How Long The Buffer Zone Should Be Left For A Dry Ski Slope?

The structure of the skiing surface of the four seasons dry ski slope is the same as that of a real snow skiing. There are the departure area, the skiing area and the buffer area. The length of the buffer zone varies according to the level of the slope, but at least 30 meters in length is guaranteed. The higher the level of the run and the greater the average angle of the run, the longer the distance skiers have to slide in the buffer zone, and the longer the buffer zone is to slow down. However, the skiing process of technical exercises are carried out in the glide area, in the total length is limited, the total area is limited site, we should try to design a long glide area and short buffer, so that the site has the highest utilization rate. So, how can we ensure safety under the premise of shortening the buffer zone as much as possible?

- Increase buffer friction

There are many ways to increase the friction of the buffer zone. The material of four-season dry skiing mat is mostly PE or PP, and lubricant is needed to skate on it. Taking Junway four seasons dry skiing mat as an example, the two sides of the skiing area need to be arranged with a sprinkler system, which sprays water over the surface of the skiing mat, so that when the snowboard touches the skiing mat, the dry friction is changed to wet friction, which greatly reduces the friction, and increases the speed of the skiing. Then in the buffer zone in order to slow down, we do not need to arrange the sprinkler system, from the skiing area to the buffer zone, wet friction into dry friction, so as to speed up the speed reduction. Buffer length if less than 30m, can be laid in the end section of the pile carpet, so that its friction doubled, thus greatly reducing the length of skidding.

- Add special crash structures

Ski resorts or four-season ski resorts will install crash protection at the end of the buffer zone. Real snow parks generally use crash nets, while four-season dry snow parks use special suspended crash cushions because the site needs to be hardened and the entire site is surrounded by fencing. Suspended crash mats are structured in three main parts: the support, the suspension chains and the crash mats. A customized metal brace is built on the outside of the fence, one end of the brace extends a certain distance into the buffer zone, and the crash pad is suspended from the end of the brace using suspension chains to keep the bottom of the pad a certain distance from the surface of the buffer zone. Skiers wearing double board hit the crash pad, its double board will be inserted into the gap at the bottom of the crash pad, the crash pad is also followed by the guardrail against the swing, so as to achieve the stop at the same time to protect the skier from injury.
