Introduction to the Lubrication System for All-Season Dry Ski Slopes

The ability to enjoy dry ski slopes throughout the year is largely attributed to the specialized material used in the skiing mat. Junway's dry ski mat is primarily made from polyethylene (PE), known for its high plasticity, superior resistance to UV aging, colorfastness, and durability even in extreme cold conditions.

However, being a synthetic plastic product, the dry ski mat differs from natural snow. The friction between skis and the mat generates significant heat, which can increase over time, potentially damaging the skis and impairing the skiing experience. To mitigate this, a lubrication medium is essential to reduce friction and provide cooling.

After extensive testing and elimination of alternatives like silicone oil, Junway has identified water as the optimal lubricant for dry ski mats. Since snow is essentially frozen water, water provides the closest lubrication effect to natural snow for skis. Hence, the all-season dry ski lubrication system is also referred to as a spray system. The complexity of the sprinkler system varies with the size of the snow park.

For small-scale dry ski areas, such as snowboard obstacle courses covering up to 300 square meters, a straightforward manual spraying system connected to a pressurized tap water line suffices. Before each skiing session, water is evenly sprayed onto the slope from the departure platform.

Medium-sized dry ski slopes, like those for single and double board practice ranging from 300 to 1000 square meters, can utilize a more adaptable simple sprinkler system. This system can be customized based on the venue's layout, such as installing PVC water pipes along the sides and above the slide, with holes drilled for self-flowing water spray.
